Spoiled... just to have my bubble bust...

So the last few days have been pretty BLAH for me. I have figured out that I got too accustomed for pretty much knowing exactly when my Hubby would be calling me. My bubble has definitley been busted though, I havn't heard his voice in far too long! :( I do miss my dear sweet hubby!

On a happier note, Leonidas is loving going to the dog park everyday. I guess since my spoiling has halted, I decided to spoil him. It wears him out enough to where he isn't going 150 miles an hour all day and night. We went to the dog park today only to get caught in a torrential downpour!! We were both soaked by the time we made it back to the jeep... and go figure 5 minutes after getting in the jeep it stopped!

On and even HAPPIER note... tomorrow I get to head to North Carolina after work! It will be a nice long weekend! And the most exciting news is that I get to see one of my greatest friends Kim!! I havn't seen her in over a year when she and her husband got transferred to Kentucky. Well now they are coming to Bragg and I can't be more excited!! I can't wait to be able to decide to go home to NC and visit my Kimmy! It's a much shorter drive than going to Kentucky! AND on top of that, my Hubby is going to be sooooo excited to be able to hang out with Kim's Hubby on R&R whenever that may be!

This is Kim and I all dressed up for the Old Guard Ball in 2009!

A Productive Saturday!

The picture above is what a productive Saturday for Leonidas and I leads to... cuddling together! I started out this morning by getting up bright and early to volunteer with the USO on Fort Belvoir. We stuffed over 5,000 care packages in less than 4 hours!! It was awesome!! I had a friend from work and her husband there that I knew already and I met a ton of great new people as well! I came home and hung out around the house with Leonidas for a bit then decided to take him to the dog park to maybe run off some of his energy. We had a great time, he loves playing with any pooch that will wrestle with him a little! We came home and I brought him inside and gave him a treat before I turned around and went right back out... I was on a mission. I have been wanting to get Leo a doggie pool for a few months now and finally decided to go out and get it! I found one at PetSmart for like $10! We didn't get to play in it really today before the sun went down but I am hoping that we will get to test it out tomorrow during the heat of the day! I also bought some new running shoes! WOOHOO for me! I have to convince myself to get up early in the morning and go to the gym since I didn't work out Friday or today. I also have a Trace Adkins concert to go to with some great girls tomorrow evening! I am pretty excited! This weekends activities has definitley kept me for sulking around at home because I havn't heard from my hubby.

I hope that I have not bored anyone into a coma tonight with my ramblings... Looking towards Leo as in example, I fear that I just may have!

Leo during my blogging...

Who needs a pillow pet when I have the best pillow pet around!

I hope you all have a very relaxing Sunday! And just remember... tomorrow is the end to another full week during this deployment!!

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

Woohoo for another Friday! Linking up with Wife of a Sailor for MilSpouse Friday Fill In! Link up with her and join in!!

1. If you could have a private concert with any singer, who would it be?  submitted by An Air Force Wife’s Blog

Haha, oh man! I am thinking of how to answer this question without having my hubbster mad at me lol. I know that if I answer Chris Young because he's my favorite right now, that my hubby is sick of hearing about Chris Young on my blog ;). In all reality though I think that I would probaby want a private concert from (not taking into account that the question doesn't say you can't choose someone who has already passed away) Conway Twitty! I love the old style country music and who better to have a private concert with!

2. Is there anything you do to supplement your family’s income? submitted by Our Life, One Adventure at a Time

I am also active duty military  (Coast Guard) so my husband and I both greatly contribute to our family's income!  My husband outranks... I am slowly catching up, but I still contribute and we live quite comfortably. Ask me again in a little over a year when my enlistment ends and I join my hubby in Hawaii!

3. During your pregnancy (whether past, present, or future), what did you nickname your unborn baby before you knew the sex? submitted by Explosions of Love
This would be the future for me and honestly I have no idea. I am sure my Hubby will want to nickname our unborn baby Chuck Norris or somthing silly like that... I guess that's why I love him! I will say that when one of my dear friends was pregnant with her little girl we nicknamed her unborn baby -Pod-. It was cute and catchy!

4. Have you ever won a blog giveaway?  If so what did you win? submitted by Mrs. O’s Life

I have never won a blog giveaway... I have never even entered a blog giveaway. I am still new to the blogosphere so I guess I need to start looking for these blog giveaways!!

5.  If I looked into your refrigerator right now, what would I find? submitted by Married to the Army

Right now since it's just me in the house, in my refrigerator you will find the following:
Fat free milk, gogurt, cheese, homemade sweet pickles, lots of fresh spinach, hotdogs, butter, and fresh asparagus. Pretty boring I know.

What's YOUR Song?

Wooohooo for Thursday! It's that time again... time to link up with Goodnight Moon for "What's YOUR Song?"

This week I needed a song that really lifts my spirits. It's been a rough two weeks with this deployment. The first time I heard this song I was riding in the car with my mom in NC a few weeks ago and I could not believe my ears... and that they were playing it on the radio!! It sent me into a sheer giggle fit, it's far too catchy to not like. This is one of the CDs I plan to send my Hubby because I know he will love it!

**Warning... it does have a slight undertone of raunchiness**

I hope you all have a wondeful Friday followed by a hopefully relaxing weekend!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

This is my first time linking up with Jamie @ This Kind of Love for "What I'm Loving Wednesday". Today could really go for things I am loving and even a few things I am hating! I will start out with the things I am loving though!

This week I am LOVING the gym! I have hit it hard all week! Monday I had a training session with my personal trainer Kim. Tuesday at work, Jamie (my personal motivator at work) and I ran on the treadmill and then split up to do abs and arms. Today at work, Jamie, Eric, Michele and myself attended a hardcore abs class, ran a mile on the treadmill, and then attended a yoga class!

Powerhouse Gym of Woodbridge, VA is where I train with Kim!

I am also LOVING Freedom Keys by Key Element Jewelry! The jewelry is so unique and cute for those who would like an extra way to show their support for our troops!

This is the RED (Remember Everyone Deployed) Necklace by Key Element Jewelry... Super cute huh?

I am also LOVING Chris Young this week... (My husband would tell you that it isn't just this week but every week ;) ) But Especially this week because his new CD "Neon" hit stores yesterday!! I didn't run right out and buy it because I have to buy the Hubby some music to ship overseas for him, so I was waiting until this weekend. Luckily when I got to work this morning, my supervisor had bought the CD and had it laying on my desk for me to listen to!! LOOOOVE IT!!

Just a smidge of yumminess ;)... I know I am going to hear it from my Hubby as soon as he reads this haha. I LOVE YOU BABE!!!

And as for those things that I am HATING today...

My cell phone... that decides that while it is laying beside me it isn't going to ring when my Hubby calls me, but it sure will notify me when he leaves me a voicemail! Grrr!

This is what I felt like doing to my cell phone today :(... but what good would that do for future phone calls from my hubbs?

Secondly today I am HATING my appetite! As I mentioned before, I have been working my butt off in the gym. I have been doing pretty well about denying my cravings. Today I couldn't handle the craving though, I ended up giving in and going to get a blizzard for DQ... So I guess that is it for me this week. No more sweets!

This is EXACTLY what I gave in to!

In ending, as ALWAYS, I AM OVER THE MOON IN LOVING MY WONDERFUL HUBBY!!
Baby... Chris Young doesn't have anything on you! MWAH!!

Another Full Week Down!

I went to bed pretty late last night, somewhere around 3am and woke up to a whiney puppy around 9am. I couldn't get back to sleep so I started my day of laundry. Laundry is probably my LEAST favorite chore! I don't mind putting the laundry in the washer or the dryer, it's the folding of the laundry that I loathe.. I try to be a good housewife but I royally fail at it when it's just me!

I began feeling pretty lazy around 5pm, when I started thinking about somthing to eat. I didn't feel like cooking but I also didn't feel like leaving my house. I finally convinced myself that I needed to cook so I could have somthing to take to work for lunch this week. It saves me money and it's healthier! So I cut up three chicken breasts and added my favorite spice, Roasted Garlic & Herb with a little olive oil and threw it on the baby foreman grill!

I also cooked two filets of tilapia with lemon pepper seasoning. I am really bad about cooking for one person. Our last deployment, I would skip dinner usually and just go to bed because I didn't feel like cooking for just me. This deployment though, I have found that if I cook on Sunday enough for dinner and lunch, normally all I have to fix during the week is a side such as spinach or rice and therefore I am not skipping meals because we all know that is not good for you!

On another note, yesterday I found some of the cutest little solar lights at Wal-Mart when I went to get the right size bobbins for my sewing machine. What's even greater about these super cute solar lights is that they were on SALE! Who loves a good sale? THIS GIRL!! Today I put the solar lights out on my front walkway and I must admit, I love them! Especially with a deployed husband!!

Nice and Patriotic!!

They work!!

So happy that today is Sunday, even though I am not ready to go back to work tomorrow, I am ready to have this deployment over with! This is just another week down! Have a wondeful Monday!!

Sewing Fail Number One...

Last weekend when I returned from North Carolina, I brought back my late Grandmother's sewing machine. I was getting a little tired of baking cakes in a jar to pass my time so I thought I would learn how to sew! This past week I went to a fabrics store and bought a VERY easy project to attempt, an apron. I say very easy because I didn't have to get the fabric or pattern or anything, the fabric had each pattern already on it, I just had to cut it out!

Why is the title of this post Sewing Fail Number One? My first hiccup with my sewing project was winding the bobbin. Not so much winding the bobbin, I suceeded in winding the bobbin, however I had NO clue that there were different sizes of bobbin's when I purchased a set. Of course it was the wrong size! I had to run out to Wal-Mart this afternoon to grab the correct size, thank goodness for google or I wouldn't have ever figured it out! Since that hiccup though, I have done fairly well in my first sewing project! The apron is coming together nicely! I have stopped sewing for the evening, maybe I will pick it up tomorrow to finish the apron. I am already starting to think of what my next project will be! I think I am leaning towards oven mitts... since I do so much baking :).

On another note, I keep seeing these photos pop up all over the place of people "planking". I had to figure out what this whole craze is about. I still have no clue where it originated, but people are planking EVERYWHERE! I have done plank's in exercise classes and when working out my abs but not sure what the craze is about doing them in public to have your picture taken.

Friday Fill-In

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

Linking up with Wife of a Sailor for the MilSpouse Friday Fill-In!!

1. Does your Significant Other read your blog?  Why is this a good or a bad thing? submitted by Mrs. Alana’s Miscellany
Well, let me just say this... My husband is a "follower" of my blog, however I don't think he really reads it unless he is bored and has time to waste. He is deployed and I am sure he doesn't go looking for it, but if I post the link to my FB then he probably will read it :).

2. What is one item in your house that holds the most sentimental value and why? submitted by The Albrecht Squad
I think that the most sentimental item that I have in my house is probably a painting that my late grandmother painted. I am a Carolina girl and the painting is over a man resembleing that of Dale Earnhardt and his black lab. The sky in the background is a dusky orange and pink beauty. Growing up we always called it the Earnhardt Cowboy painting. Shortly after my Papa passed away in 2009 my mom asked me if I wanted one of Grandma's painting and I most definitley wanted the Earnhardt Cowboy! It hangs at the top of my stairs greeting me.

3. When it comes to water fun in the summer do you prefer the beach, the pool, a lake, or the sprinklers? submitted by The Turvo Times
When it comes to waterfun... I am a Coastal Carolina girl! Of the choices I would probably have to choose the Beach or a lake. However, I really love going out on the boat in the sound and fishing or tubing and knee boarding on a lake. I am in the Coast Guard so I guess it's just a natural for me to enjoy being around water and boating.

4. What is the one special thing that you do for yourself to get you through the first week of a deployment/separation? submitted by A Creed and a Psalm
This being our (the Hubby and I) second deployment since we have been together (3 years). I havn't really figured out what gets me through the first week. I think the first week I am still in shock that it is going to be so long before I see him again and that he is going to face danger on a daily basis. This deployment, the first week he was gone I was in Hawaii so I was able to spend time with some of the wives. Packing and getting everything ready to come back home was pretty much a distraction for me the first week so that I guess is what really got me through it.

5.  What is your biggest guilty pleasure website? submitted by Christine’s Little Blog
I guess my biggest guilty pleasure website would be... I know it's bad but... People of Walmart. I know I may catch flak for that being a guilty pleasure because some people believe that it just isn't right for people to take pictures of other's who aren't aware... yet I think if you walk out of your house like that... you are sometimes, not all the time, asking for it! My other guilty pleasure website that is tied with POW but starting to edge ahead is Damn You Auto Correct... Bahahahah I just can't get over some of the auto corrections and people not READING their texts before they press send. Literally I just spent the last 5 minutes trying to stop my giggling from reading some of the posts!!

This is THE Life!!

So for the first time I am linking up with Goodnight Moon for What's Your Song. My friend Jane at A Few of my Favorite Things has been participating and definitley got me interested this week when she posted a reggae song that triggered my memory of being in LOVE with the reggae stations in Hawaii...

So I found one of the Honolulu, HI Reggae stations that I listened to while I was in Hawaii before the hubby deployed on iHeartRadio! I have a feeling my battery is going to be SHOT from me playing Island 98.5 every chance I get!

I chose one of the songs that really stuck with me as MY song today!

I am not sure what it is about the Hawaiian Reggae music but it definitley puts me in a better mood! Maybe because it was the last music Hubby and I jammed out to before he deployed. The beats are so mellow and relaxing... I could probably go on and on and on but I will let you see for yourself by listening to my pick for today Kolohe Kai "This is the Life".

I have an amazing life! I have been blessed with a wonderful husband who is fighting for my freedom. He is my rock and even though we are thousands of miles apart for a year, he still provides for me in every way he can! I have THE life! This is THE Life and I wouldn't change a thing about it (other than having my Hubby out of harms way)!

I have been MIA... but I am back!

Hello all of my wonderful neighbors in the blogosphere! I have been missing in action for somewhere around a month.  I just havn't had the motivation for much of anything lately.  I guess you could say I just hit a low point during this deployment.  It is expected, I will have my ups and downs as the time goes on.  What have I been up to during my month hiatus?

*Steps up on soapbox... taps mic and clears throat*

Well I was addicted to the Casey Anthony case, which ended today with a not guilty verdict on all charges except for providing false information to law enforcement officers times 4.  Now I don't want to start a big ole confrontation on my blog for sharing my opinions, so take my opinions as just that, an emotional opinion.  I mean no offense to anyone by my opinion.  I am not even a mother yet, but I don't understand how a mother can go 31 days with her daughter missing and not report it.  In my opinion I don't think if Cindy Anthony had not gone looking for Casey and pry the information about Caylee's "whereabouts" out of her, that Casey would have come forward on her own about Caylee's disappearance.  I think this is where it gets to me that the Jury found her not guilty on all accounts when pertaining to Caylee.  Not reporting that you 2 year old daughter has been missing for 31 days is child abuse to me.  If Cindy hadn't been a caring grandmother and gone to pry the information out, who is to say that it wouldn't have been 6 months before someone else noticed the lack of Caylee being around?  To me, that is CHILD ABUSE.  Sure the Defense won the case today, but going and celebrating a block from the courthouse where you are shown on national television drinking and jumping around in jubilation, come on... really?  There is a 2 year old little girl whose life was cut way short at the hands of someone, and that someone, we may never know who it was, why, how... I figured a little more tact would be used, but I guess I was wrong.

*Steps off Casey Anthony Soap Box*
