Friday Fill-In

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

Linking up with Wife of a Sailor for the MilSpouse Friday Fill-In!!

1. Does your Significant Other read your blog?  Why is this a good or a bad thing? submitted by Mrs. Alana’s Miscellany
Well, let me just say this... My husband is a "follower" of my blog, however I don't think he really reads it unless he is bored and has time to waste. He is deployed and I am sure he doesn't go looking for it, but if I post the link to my FB then he probably will read it :).

2. What is one item in your house that holds the most sentimental value and why? submitted by The Albrecht Squad
I think that the most sentimental item that I have in my house is probably a painting that my late grandmother painted. I am a Carolina girl and the painting is over a man resembleing that of Dale Earnhardt and his black lab. The sky in the background is a dusky orange and pink beauty. Growing up we always called it the Earnhardt Cowboy painting. Shortly after my Papa passed away in 2009 my mom asked me if I wanted one of Grandma's painting and I most definitley wanted the Earnhardt Cowboy! It hangs at the top of my stairs greeting me.

3. When it comes to water fun in the summer do you prefer the beach, the pool, a lake, or the sprinklers? submitted by The Turvo Times
When it comes to waterfun... I am a Coastal Carolina girl! Of the choices I would probably have to choose the Beach or a lake. However, I really love going out on the boat in the sound and fishing or tubing and knee boarding on a lake. I am in the Coast Guard so I guess it's just a natural for me to enjoy being around water and boating.

4. What is the one special thing that you do for yourself to get you through the first week of a deployment/separation? submitted by A Creed and a Psalm
This being our (the Hubby and I) second deployment since we have been together (3 years). I havn't really figured out what gets me through the first week. I think the first week I am still in shock that it is going to be so long before I see him again and that he is going to face danger on a daily basis. This deployment, the first week he was gone I was in Hawaii so I was able to spend time with some of the wives. Packing and getting everything ready to come back home was pretty much a distraction for me the first week so that I guess is what really got me through it.

5.  What is your biggest guilty pleasure website? submitted by Christine’s Little Blog
I guess my biggest guilty pleasure website would be... I know it's bad but... People of Walmart. I know I may catch flak for that being a guilty pleasure because some people believe that it just isn't right for people to take pictures of other's who aren't aware... yet I think if you walk out of your house like that... you are sometimes, not all the time, asking for it! My other guilty pleasure website that is tied with POW but starting to edge ahead is Damn You Auto Correct... Bahahahah I just can't get over some of the auto corrections and people not READING their texts before they press send. Literally I just spent the last 5 minutes trying to stop my giggling from reading some of the posts!!

  1. Great answer!! Keep it strong and you will definitely beat this deployment!! I'm your newest follower!

  2. Aww that painting sounds beautiful! That is such a cool thing to have that your grandma made. And completely unrelated I love People of Walmart! I get a little sad that I, myself never see these people though.

  3. I don't go to Walmart often, but when I do, I take a long look in the mirror and ask myself, "do I look okay enough to not end up on that website?" ;)

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

  4. Hee hee! I'm beginning to think that the Wal-Mart site is a must-see on most milspouse blogs. Seriously surprised of not being on there as I cannot be trusted to dress myself when I'm pregnant. All worries go out the window and apparently all cereal bits go on my shirt. Love finding other milspouses on Friday Fill-Ins! :) Alma
